A funeral service for Darwin Robinson, age 90, of Rusk, is scheduled at 11 o'clock in the morning Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Salem Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Mabry and Bro. Don Copeland officiating. He will be laid to rest at Salem Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
Mr. Robinson passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in Rusk.
He was born May 13, 1926 in Dialville to Bryan and Irene Robinson.
He loved working on his farm and with his cows. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife to Colorado in the summer. Darwin was a Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan. He was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Robinson; and a sister, Levelle Moses.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 70 years, Imogene Robinson of Rusk; son, Bryan Robinson, Jr. and wife Kathy of Rusk; daughter, Carolyn Hooks and husband James of Cross Roads; sisters-in-law, Rita Wiggins, Norma Robinson, Ann Kimbrell and brother-in-law, William Kennedy. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Steven Hooks and wife Melanie of Manor, Jay Hooks of Cross Roads, Clay Robinson and wife Melissa of Rusk, Justin Robinson and wife Rachel of Jacksonville; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Deacons of his church will serve as pallbearers and his grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at Salem Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, May 13, 2017.
