A funeral service for Curtis Neal Sanford, age 51, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 10 o'clock in the morning Saturday, December 2, 2017 at The First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville with Jeremy Yancey officiating. He will be laid to rest at West Shady Grove Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home.
Mr. Sanford passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in Jacksonville.
Curtis was born January 17, 1966 in Rusk, Texas.
He served 24 + years in the U.S. Army. Curtis worked for the Forestry Service and JISD. He was a member of Timber Creek Church in Lufkin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Neal Sanford; and grandparents, A.C. and Lois Raniy and Herman and Doris Sanford.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Julianne Douglas Sanford of Jacksonville; mother, Elsie Sanford of Jacksonville; children, Courtney Nolen and husband Caleb, Jaci Sanford, Caylee Sanford, all of Jacksonville and Jeremy Sanford of Nacogdoches. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Caden Foster and Cash Nolen; brother-in-law, Brett Douglas of Fort Worth; uncle and aunts, Gene Sanford, Carol Hasten, Mary Shayhand and husband Calvin; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Julie and Terry Smith of Dallas; one nephew and several cousins.
Visitation will begin on Friday, December 1, 2017 and friends are cordially invited to visit the Sanford family from 6 to 8 o'clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
