Clifford Rex Dudley, 78, of Rusk, Texas died Monday, July 17, 2017, at Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches. Known as Rex, he was born August 20, 1938, in the Alazan community in Nacogdoches County, where he will be laid to rest.
Mr. Dudley lived in East Texas all of his life except for three years service in the U.S. Army, when he was stationed in California. He worked in the grocery business, owned and operated a successful convenience store and taught himself air conditioning repair. He never rested from his labors until he was called home while surrounded by his family.
He will be missed by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Sebren Dudley, and three children, Cathy, Kenneth and Lisa. Also left to cherish his memory are four grandsons, Karlton, Klayton, Koltton and Preston, a granddaughter, Lauren, and nine great-grandchildren, Kadon, Brydon, Logan Rex, Landon, Lila, Lillian, Camdyn, Raidyn and Hayden.
