A funeral service for Bonner Shoemaker, age 70, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 2 o'clock in the afternoon Friday, February 24, 2017 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Bro. David Jimerson and Bro. James Shine officiating. He will be laid to rest at Shiloh Cemetery in Omen, Texas.
Mr. Shoemaker passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 at his home in Jacksonville.
Bonner was born March 27, 1946 to Clyde and Naomi (Bonner) Shoemaker.
He was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. During his working years, he was a carpenter and a small engine repair technician. He was also an airplane mechanic with Dyncorp and loved traveling to places like Saudi Arabia and Vietnam.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughters, Jennifer McMichael of Houston and Katrina Shewey and husband Larry of Kentucky; mother-in-law, Allie Faye Busby; sisters, Peggy Lankford of Austin and Becky Fowler of Irving. He is also survived by grandchildren, Tyler Shewey, Christopher Shoemaker, Cole McMichael, Cayden McMichael, Hailey Shewey, Savanah Shewey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be J.R. Shoemaker, Alan Mims, William Morgan, Paul Powell, Kevin Mead and L.D. Jimerson. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Hooten, Don Maxell and Chuck Fielding.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, February 23, 2017 and friends are cordially invited to visit with Bonner's family from 6 to 8 o'clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
