Betty Ruth Berry of Jacksonville, Texas, born December 7, 1931, died peacefully on December 26, 2015 at the age of 84 in Tyler. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Final resting place will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Betty Ruth had an avid interest in gardening. She was a past member of the Jacksonville Garden Club and a member of Central Baptist Church. “Berry” loved her time with her family whether it be at the lake, the beach, the mountains or the family holiday times. The Berry family began their hometown business, Berry’s Tin Shop in 1936. Betty Ruth and Billy Glen carried on this tradition for six decades. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. Betty Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Billy Glen Berry; her brothers, Jeff “J.W.” Barber, Harold Barber, and Jerry Neal Barber; and son-in-law, Dean Stewart. Betty Ruth is survived by her children, Sheron Stewart, Kirk Berry and Lisa Holcombe, Steve and Jan Berry; grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Berry” Amanda Stewart, Bryan and Heather Stewart, Matt and Celeste Berry, Ashley Stewart Tackett, Jeff and Victoria Gray; six great-grandchildren, Haylee Evans, Keely Johnson, MaKenzee Stewart, Claire Tackett, Gentry Gray, Benjamin Berry; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Bryan Stewart, Matt Berry, Jeff Gray, Mark Holton, Charles Nunnally and Chris Harrison. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 and friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 6-8 o’clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
