Funeral Services for Bernice 'Nannie' L. Roach, 92, of Rusk will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home with Brother Don Copeland and Brother Brad Turlington officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Roach was born Oct. 11, 1923, in Brushy Creek, Texas, to her late father and mother, Mary Emma Jenkins Lunsford. She served as food service supervisor at Rusk State Hospital for 20 plus years. She was a life-long Baptist, having been a member at Rusk First Baptist Church. She adored time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was known for her seamstress abilities, and making sock monkeys. She enjoyed gardening, crafts and cared for everyone else, and shared her table with all. She is especially known for her Kit-Kats and little Dr. Pepper cans in the fridge. Hannah will miss her most. She is predeceased by her parents, husband of almost 60 years, James H. “Jim” Roach, son-in-law, Orea Lee Oliver, grandson, Orea Lee Oliver, Jr. and great grandson Damion Herring. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Jimmie Sue and Bob Nation, Reklaw, TX, Shirley “Pete” and Kenneth Herring, Rusk, TX, grandchildren, Jamie and Crystal Oliver, Rusk, TX, Stephen and Jaime Herring, Rusk, TX, Christie and Tim Hollis, Alto, TX, Ashley and Roy Petty, Alto, TX, Corie Herring, Tyler, TX, great-grandchildren, Josh Herring, Rusk, TX, Stacey Richardson, Rusk, TX, Ashlynn, Brandon, Kenslee Petty, Alto, TX, Cole and Camden Hollis and Morgan Lindsey, Alto, TX, Keaton, Jackson, Bella and Brystal Oliver, Rusk, TX, extended family, Brad, Jennifer Turlington and Kalden, Rusk, TX, and special friend Kathy Moeser. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Jamie, Stevie, Tim, Roy, Josh, Cole, and Honorary pallbearers, Brandon, Camden, Keaton, and Jackson.
