Beall Orr, 75, died Saturday from complications of diabetes. See full obituary online at Legacy.com. Growing up near Sweetwater, Beall graduated from Divide High School in 1958. He earned a degree from Sul Ross State College in 1962, and he married Lynne Halbert of Frankston in 1963. They had two daughters, Lucinda and Melissa. After his U.S. Army service, Beall worked for Allis-Chalmers serving Waco-area farmers. In 1971 he became a farmer himself, developing the Halbert acreage in Anderson County and moving to Jacksonville. From 1976 to 2000 with Rowan Companies, he worked offshore on rigs in many locations. Preceded in death by his parents, Burnett Orr and Laura Edith Wallis Orr, Beall is survived by his wife; daughter Lucinda Orr; daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Wayne Arnold; granddaughter Sarah Edwards and fiancé Michael Moore; granddaughter Allyson Jacobs; great-granddaughters Eisley Edwards and Emily Moore; sister and brother-in-law Dana Beth and Jim Norris; many nieces and nephews; and Meeko, his Siamese cat. Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 20, at 2:00 in the chapel of Central Baptist Church in Jacksonville. Visitation will occur afterward. The family will observe a private burial ceremony that morning at Resthaven Memorial Park in Jacksonville.
