A funeral service for Annie Jo Horn, age 88, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 10 o'clock in the morning Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Daniel Childs officiating. She will be laid to rest at McDonald Cemetery in New Summerfield. Mrs. Horn passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 in Jacksonville surrounded by her family.
Jo was born November 12, 1928 in New Summerfield. She was the 5th of the 6 children born to Roland and Annie (Tankersley) Casey. She graduated Valedictorian of the Class of 1946 of New Summerfield High School. Jo married James Glynn Horn on October 13, 1949 at her parents' home in New Summerfield. She worked as a medical records transcriptionist for Newburn Hospital, Nan Travis Hospital and ETMC in Jacksonville. For 64 years, Jo was a member of First Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings and their spouses, Dorothy Darby and husband Armen, Elmer Casey, Horace Casey and wife Jessie, Wanda Cunningham and husband Charles, and Betty Wiggins and husband Thomas.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, James Glynn Horn of Jacksonville; children, Glynda Jan Childs and husband Dan, Jennifer Jo Henderson and husband Lex; grandchildren, Heather (Childs) Thompson and husband Addison, Holly (Childs) Deitch and husband Gary, Hayley (Childs) Marquez and husband T.J., Kelly Henderson and wife Valerie, Zach Henderson; She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Wesley Thompson, Rachel, Emily and Haven Marquez, Knox, Ryder, and Jack Henderson, Penelope and Savannah Henderson; sister-in-law, Guella Casey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Lex Henderson, Addison Thompson, Gary Deitch, Kelly Henderson, T.J. Marquez, Zach Henderson and Dr. Joe Cunningham. Honorary pallbearers will be representatives of deceased siblings, Wayne Beal, Spencer Thompson, George McKinney, Charlie Wiggins, Dr. Casey Cunningham, Joe W. Taylor, Glenn R. Casey and Dr. James Low.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 and friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 5 to 7 o'clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
