A graveside service for Aline Hope Hammons, age 91, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 2 o'clock in the afternoon Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Resthaven Cemetery in Jacksonville with Pastor Vernon R. Lee officiating. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Hammons passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in Jacksonville. She was born July 2, 1925 to Homer and Velma McElroy. She was a Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church.
She worked for Drug Save and Discount City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hammons; son, Wayne Hammons; daughter-in-law, Sandra Hammons; a granddaughter, Kellie Moore, one sister and brothers.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Linda Hammons; grandchildren, Scott Seay, Tamara Dunlap and Grady Hammons; five great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Jean Cheatham, a brother, Aubrey McElroy; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to thank Twin Oaks staff for the exceptional care they have provided to the Hammons family throughout the years.
Rather than customary condolences, memorials may be made to Texas National Bank of Jacksonville for Ray Kerr's medical expenses, Salvation Army or a favorite church.
Mrs. Hammons was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and the most gentle and kindest of women. The angels are rejoicing in her presence.
