A graveside service for Adelene Douglas, age 94, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 11 o'clock in the morning Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Rev. Larry Barker officiating. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Douglas passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in Tyler.
Adelene was born November 29, 1922 in Jacksonville to Henry and Annie (Reynolds) Bearden.
She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Jacksonville and worked for Nichols.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Dempsey Douglas and her son, Randy Douglas.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Jerry Don Douglas and wife Linda of Murchison, TX; daughter-in-law, Julie Douglas-Smith of Dallas; grandchildren, Julianne Sanford and husband Curtis, Brett Douglas and wife Linda, Wendy Zavala, Holli Benge and husband Craig, and Jeff Douglas and wife Sara. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brett Douglas, Jeff Douglas, Kenneth Durham, Gene Durham, Jimmy Claiborne, Curtis Sanford, Craig Benge, John Prewitt and Kenny Durham.
Rather than customary condolences, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1720 S. Bolton St., Jacksonville, Texas 75766.
