Adan Alvarez Meza, 92, of Jacksonville, Texas, died July 7, 2016.
He was born May 8, 1924, at King Ranch in Kingsville, Kenedy County, Texas, the son of Antonio Meza and Carmen Alvarez. His brothers and sisters include Giliberto Alvarez, Antonio Meza, Luís Meza, Esteban Meza, Zerafina Diaz, Beatrice Salazar, Evam Longoria, Ester Meza and Enlalia Latner.
Meza was raised in San Benito, Texas, but in 1963, he and his wife Maria moved to Jacksonville, where he worked at the Texas Basket Factory for 36 years, retiring at age 85.
He was a loving and caring person, and a member of the Catholic community.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Maria Molina Meza; sons, Guadalupe (Pito) and wife Emilia Meza, and Adan Jr. and wife Melanie Meza; daughters, Maria D. and husband O.D. Cerda, Guadalupe (Pita) and husband Vincent Rodriguez Jr., Maria and Hector Rodriguez, Maria (Annie) Davenport and Amy Meza Zenn and husband Aaron Zenn; 20 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
